So when Jesus told the parable of the Sheep and the Goats he was preaching error? No one earns their way into heaven, and faith is essential, but faith without good works is insufficient. Feel free to believe otherwise, but understand that you're wrong.

What is faith alone, anyways? How can you have faith and not do the right thing? Good works are the expression of our faith, not a replacement.
    John Brown did nothing wrong.

    • Good works is simply evidence of true faith, as opposed to just going along with the crowd. They are not necessary for salvation.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

      • Paul was actually very big on doing good works. I'm not sure many Protestants know to what extent. Catholics get a lot right. For example, the main reason for prayer is the forgiveness of sin. I bet if you asked a bunch of Protestants what we pray for you would get a half dozen answers and none of them would be forgiveness of sins.

I'll say evangelism (holy spirit) and the Bible.

Oh and the Rapture is true doctrine. Read the Bible

You're wrong but I have another point. A minister once told me that tradition was the accumulation of reason? Isn't that a crazy definition? Anywho, it makes very little sense to believe something just because that's the way people have always believed. If you assume that it does how can you talk about real experts?

The best part is that God is with us. Wesley said that actually but I assume it's also a Catholic saying.

Intersting that it's a Baptist sect you've in- as I said to Wendy Kenobi, so few converts to any sect become liberation theologists.
 Oh you observed the process in others. Then you must know exactly what will happen to me.

Bull****. Why would God allow His word to be wrong. Come on now. Albert is more sensible about this than you and he's an atheist or whatever. So is Proteus.

                          • As Imran just said, Christ was God's Word. The Bible is simply a record, of secondary importance to the incarnate Word Himself. As a human creation, it is necessarily open to error.

I often find atheists actually know more about religion than the folks born who never changed because they actually question everything and research it. About the only folks who consistently know more are converts and that's just because they had to learn everything from scratch so they learn about the whole nine yards.
