Now, granted, Wiktionary does mention a secondary meaning of "allow or permit," but I would say that "excuse, forgive or overlook" is the far more common use of the word."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Americans think it's cool to own large amounts of guns, ban gays from marrying eachother, censor boobies and "bad words" on TV, protest fallen soldier's funerals, and slander identifiable minorities with propaganda much like the Nazis did in WW2.
Other countries have moved well beyond such immaturity."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

WHO DOES THE GOVERMMENT THINK IT IS IF IT TELLS ME HOW FAST I SHOULD DRIVE MY CAR?
Do Americans even ****ing realize how inconsistent their beliefs about freedom are?

Wow...those are some astonishing generalizations for a country of 300 million. I seem to recall several states actually have gay marriage or civil unions, and a majority of Americans supporting civil unions.
I also seem to recall Westboro being the most hated group in the US, but since they protest at our funerals, obviously it's an american icon and a centerpiece of our culture. If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

It's not even the price of a car.
It's not a trifle, but it's not "massive". I've had monthly credit card bills larger than that."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Spurious claims should be exposed to public ridicule and vigorously belittled, not sat upon."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
