That actually supports my point that the US is in similar company in that list.

                  No.

                  Guilty by association.

The argument isn't "No one else is killing people, so you shouldn't either". The argument is "Maybe you should reconsider your stance on this issue if the only other countries who also do this are considered third world ****holes".

But third world ****holes aren't the only ones. You can't even use a bad argument correctly.

In general terms -- they certainly are. Either third world ****holes or middle eastern theocracies.

How exactly would you describe the majority of the countries in the per-capita-executions list? Would you describe them as modern western nations with a penchant for freedom?

No, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore are developed countries located in the far east. I think you need to brush up on your geography.

Those are a very small portion of that list. Exceptions.

Japan is not a good example either, as CEOs there kill themselves out of dishonour for having a bad quarter and it was considered a great idea to employ Kamikazes. They have a different cultural philosophy on the value of life.

Let's just say if I were to pick a country to model a new country after, they would not be Japan, Taiwan, or Singapore.

I wouldn't mind having Japanese CEOs over here. Also, my philosophy states that if you kill an innocent man by chaining him to your truck and dragging him for miles your life isn't worth much. I mostly oppose the death penalty for empirical reasons.

Also, it's not like Europeans care about innocent life. Look at how many millions they've murdered in wars. And Canada was eager to participate. I don't see any reason to emulate them.
