Free trade is a good thing. Opposing it is a sign of weakness and cowardice. If an illiterate Mexican peasant can do your job, then you're not worth an American wage, and you should probably kill yourself.
      Harsh, but true.

Wages are really simple. Compensation is the perceived value of your labor to your employer. No more no less. I think free trade is a good thing for America because Americans kick ***.

Do you want to correct yourself before someone else does?

How the hell should I know?

And newsflash to laughably naive NAFTA cheerleaders: It ain't free trade.

              Taking Sava seriously

...and gribbler, your source's estimate for the minimum is actually more laughable than Ecofarm's.

Don't see what needs to be corrected.

True, thanks to all the damn lumber tariffs.

When you buy something do you offer what you perceive the value to be or less?

You pay as little as you can, which is potentially a lot less than you think it's worth.

If I need something and I perceive the value as fair, and I can afford it then I purchase it. If not, I either find an alternative or do without.

Not usually, no. Usually the savings isn't worth the time or gas spent shopping. It has to fit my need. If the product is cheap but doesn't do what I need it to do then it's worthless.

This is exactly what people complain about and why they get mad. First you said "perceived value" which is what someone is willing to pay. Then you changed it to value (price). Why must you keep doing that?

                                I said,

                                perceive the value

Price is what the store is charging me, a price that the store believes to be fair value for the product.

Again, if I as the customer, perceive the value as fair, than I purchase it , if it is an item which I am demanding and I can afford to purchase said item.

Personally, my perceptions are not based on market conditions here. That is due to my experience with a high margin, low value area. Price is rarely the determining factor.
