I don't think there is full data yet, I certainly don't, but we KNOW that:

-The terrorists were dressed as soldiers (not sure what military uniform).
-The terrorists were numerous, ( several squads ~ Platoon-sized formation )
-The terrorists were combining light arms fire with heavier weapons support (Weapons section - mortars, RPGs, etc.).
-The terrorists were attacking from the Egyptian side.
-The cooperation was much poorer than before as relations between the two sides was soured.

I also have heard that the attack came from a direction of an Egyptian post, but I have not heard any supporting evidence, so I am inclined to disregard this.

I guess the lack of coordination, lack of joint maneuvering, lack of trust with the people on the other side of the border ( With the situation in Sinai after the regime change ) and the expectation of heavy hostile presence at the location, has (I am guessing) led to much more permissive rules of engagement.

( You must understand that Egyptian military presence is usually very very light on the border with Israel).

If the roles were reversed and Egyptian military crossed into Israel and killed Israeli police or IDF, what would Israel do?
