Cool. How about we have a real discussion about the merits of all the candidates? We get it that you don't like Bachmann. Thankfully that makes her more, not less qualified. That you like Huntsman, means that he's a squish and won't actually represent republicans.
You're an idiot. I don't like Mitt Romney but he's qualified.

    • I see the light now, Kid. We should kick the doctors out of the hospitals and replace them with truck drivers who never finished high school and who know nothing about the field of medicine. I'm positive there will be no negative health effects from this new policy.
So there's a degree requirement for the presidency? What did Obama get in his grades in this purported course?

Last I checked the only requirement was to be a natural born citizen of the United States of a specific age. That's it.

You may have higher expectations, but given that you elected one of the most unqualified persons ever to stand for the presidency, I believe your standards are different depending whether they have a D or an R by their name.

      • My main problem is the rank anti-intellectualism of the right wing in America. They have the idea that ANYONE with education or who even uses facts and logic is some how an elitest and that the provably false nonsensical ramblings of some dumb ass about "death panels" should be taken as equal to the opinions of a medical doctor when it comes to public health policy (or really any public policy wrt experts in their field who actually know wtf they're talking about). The right takes the exact opposite approach and when it turns out virtually all experts in the field in question disagree with their chosen policy then that's some how a good thing. Virtually every noble pizing winning economist in the country tells them their trickle down tax policy doesn't work and is wastefully inefficient as public policy so they dismiss it because the best economists in the country are supposedly "elitests", virtually every climate scientist in the world agrees that the world is getting warmer and pollution from people is the cause but the right declares them all liars because they're "elitists with an agenda", the list goes on and on. In just about every way, shape, and form the modern right wing in America seems to think education is bad and the less of it Americans have the better. I mean main stream Republican politicians literally have called for an end to public education and that people should either pay for private schools themselves or else do "da home schooling". That's just insane.

Which leads then to the obvious question, why is Romney qualified but Bachmann is not?

          • Uh, given that you voted for someone who refuses to show their grades, I hardly would say that it's the Republicans who are anti-intellectual.

I don't see how this is obvious.

              People generally want someone that:
              1. sees the world similarly to them
              2. shares culture/etc, is part of the same tribe as them
              3. if they believe in God, that God guides rulers, then this would be important too

All of these things are true for some people. Therefore saying that religion should play no role in how people vote for politics is the same as saying that only people of certain religions should vote, and is actually an application of 1. and maybe 2.

He doesn't say things that would make him sound like a crazy idiot like promising $2 gas.

Is Oerdin and Ben the same person?

Yeah, electing someone who was president of the Harvard Law Review sounds very anti-intellectual.

That's your opinion, not a fact. I think you are confusing the two.
It's my opinion that the common man in america isn't bothered at all by logic, but they don't trust liberals to represent them.

As for qualifications, we all get one vote on that. We ALL get only ONE vote.

Ben repeated what you said word for word.
