    • Wait, it's just to punish an innocent person for what a guilty person did and then forgive the guilty person because the guilty person felt bad about what they did? Personally I'm glad that our criminal justice system doesn't work that way.

      • I thought Jesus died for my sins, and that's why I ran over all those orphans. Now you're telling me that isn't true? Why'd they even ****ing bother to nail him up then?

I've got news for you. The criminal justice system is nothing to brag about. No happy endings there.

            • It might not be amazing, but at least it wouldn't think punishing someone who didn't commit a murder would be an acceptable substitute for convicting the killer as long as the killer feels sorry for it.

Don't forget that in Christianity (though I think not Catholicism, if I recall correctly), all sins are equal!

Not only was the innocent punished for the sins of others and not only do all humans bear the sin of Adam but a murder and a petty lie or anything else are all equal.

Again, another break between Islam and Christianity. Not all sins are equal in Islam.

If God opperated like man everyone would burn for eternity. That's suppose to be better? And why can't you be thankful to God for what he did for you. Incredibly, you complain about it.

Man would give out an infinite punishment for a finite number of sins? And regardless of whether you commit one sin or a billion sins, you get the same punishment, burning for eternity? I don't think humans operate that way.

                      • But in Christianity, anyone who does not accept Christ is doomed to eternal damnation. Those who lived and died before Christ also burn in hellfire for eternity. Somehow your 'loving' and 'all-powerful' God could not fathom forgiveness except by the death of Jesus and even then, he is very selective of who he forgives... and these sins include sins that one did not even commit (original sin)!

In contrast, in Islam, all will have paradise at some point; those who lived before the Prophet Muhammad and did not hear his message are not doomed to eternal torment either. In Islam, God forgave Adam and does not visit the sins of the fathers upon the children. He does not require a sacrifice to forgive. He just forgives all who repent. He is The Merciful.

And, of course, not all sins are equal. God determines how bad each sin is.

I'm not going to go into man's justice. Some people tend to believe in it who have never really seen how unjust it is. I take it that you are one of those people. It is human nature to believe in his conscious mind that he is good, but in his unconscious mind he knows that man is evil.

We are all evil and wicked!

Sometimes people do good things and sometimes they do bad things. They aren't only good or only evil.

No, in Christian dogma, we all carry the sin of Adam. We are conceived with it. We are evil through and through, through no personal fault of our own except through existing.
