Not only was the innocent punished for the sins of others and not only do all humans bear the sin of Adam but a murder and a petty lie or anything else are all equal.
Again, another break between Islam and Christianity. Not all sins are equal in Islam."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

But in Christianity, anyone who does not accept Christ is doomed to eternal damnation. Those who lived and died before Christ also burn in hellfire for eternity. Somehow your 'loving' and 'all-powerful' God could not fathom forgiveness except by the death of Jesus and even then, he is very selective of who he forgives... and these sins include sins that one did not even commit (original sin)!
In contrast, in Islam, all will have paradise at some point; those who lived before the Prophet Muhammad and did not hear his message are not doomed to eternal torment either. In Islam, God forgave Adam and does not visit the sins of the fathers upon the children. He does not require a sacrifice to forgive. He just forgives all who repent. He is The Merciful.
And, of course, not all sins are equal. God determines how bad each sin is."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
