For the former, depends on what state. It's not illegal federally.

And cash discounts are legal. DanS is wrong.

Is this like when you were trying to argue that planned obsolescence is a good thing for the consumer?

Admit it, gribbler. You're a rich **** or you don't have to pay for anything because mommy and daddy get it for you.

I don't know about you but it's helped me quite a bit.

He's a Euro, he's likely on the dole and hasn't paid for anything.

No he's not. He's an American.

I'm an American... and not in the military... so how am I on the dole?

Well I suppose there's always one. Last I checked Americans worked hard and loved their country.

plasma tv 800 dollars, 3% is 24 dollars. and that's just one purchase: it adds up.

myself, i pay almost everything by debit card or debit-creditcard (which just instantly goes out of my moneybookers account).

there seems to be a culture difference with euro's and americans. americans tend to buy things more 'on credit' and then pay off a monthly part of the loan (if at all).

Yeah, if someone isn't desperate for a 1% bonus every time they buy something they must be rich

Someone could drop a nickel and you'd scramble to get it

But I wouldn't want to carry around the much cash. Cash is generally better for smaller purchases.

That you'd chastize someone trying to save money? Yeah. Last I checked thrift was an American virtue. Maybe not in Gribbler's and Obama's america.
