As opposed to the Christian Arabs who still live there? The Christian Arabs have a claim that they are still entitled by their residency. They've been there longer then the Muslims and yes, it was their land.

Indeed, when the Christians came during the crusades they started in Nicaea. Last I checked Nicaea was in Asia Minor, and it had belonged to the Christians, and the Crusades restored Christian control over these areas, such that the Christians who had been driven from their homes could return and settle there.
