The BBC is now reporting 85 people as dead. I'm wondering why they didn't try a mass infantry style rush of the gunman. I mean he can only shoot one person at a time so if all 85 people had rushed him some would have gotten through. :/Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Difficult to organize and execute with a bunch of teenagers. The cops are the ones to blame for allowing this to go on so long, as well as for not providing any security presence on the island.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

I'm lost for words and have been since last night. Just shocking. I couldn't even get a good night's sleep because of this. Condolances, Norway. Not that it means much.
And one guy seems to have perpetrated both the bombing and the shooting spree. In retrorespect, the bombing seems to have been a diversion. I was surprised that more people weren't killed there, but the timing was odd. He chose to attack in the middle of July, with lots of people on vacation, on a Friday afternoon.
A former Soc.Dem. PM visited the island the same day (apparently?) - but around noon (11:00-12:00), and the current PM was due to visit the next day. Yet the gunman chose to attack in between their visits when, of course, none of their security detail was on the island, so he could maximize the number of teen victims. For all his "conservatism" he's an utter barbarian.

With so much of the media, and some Poly posters, ready to blame this on Islam or Islamic terrorists, I wonder how much they will now focus on the other side of the coin...the anti-Islamic terrorists."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

The left-wing party he targeted was not "anti-immigration, anti-multicultarism, anti-Islamic" as he was, far as I can tell."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

The disclosure of Breivik's claimed links with other far right organisations came as details emerged about the rightwing Christian fundamentalist and freemason behind Norway's worst post-war act of violence.
You're not another one of these rightwing Christian fundamentalist are you? Should I be suspicious of any impending invitations to idyllic island settings...?

In one post to the Norwegian discussion forum document.no he calls the former soc.dem. PM Gro Harlem Brundtland "landsmo(r)deren". It's a pun of mother/murderer of the nation.
In another ranting post he sums up his political views which he refers to as the "Vienna school of thought" like this:
"- Against Islamization
- Anti-racist
- Anti-authoritarian (opposition to all authoritarian hate ideologies)
- Pro-Israel/defender of non-Muslim minorities in Muslim countries
- Defender of the cultural aspects of Christianity
- To expose the Eurabia project and the Frankfurt school (neo-Marxism/cultural Marxism/multiculturalism)
- Does not support any particular economic policies and can thereby gather everything from socialists to capitalists. The Frankfurt school (cultural Marxism) is a very ambitious unofficial ideology (and pretty unknown to most people) and they have succeeded in most areas (except for smashing capitalism, European Christianity and European identity, traditions, culture). The Vienna school is more of a defence against this where we often use the Marxists own creations against them (sexual liberalization, feminism, liberalism, anti-racism, anti-authoritarian arguments)."Last edited by Kitschum; July 23, 2011, 16:10.

It's not entirely dissimilar what I can tell. He's probably much more obsessed with Muslim immigrants and "Eurabia" than they are though.
Also unlike the average Teapartyist, ABB appears to think of himself as something of an intellectual and a refined individual. In some posts he refers to a book he is writing about his ideas. On his Facebook page (created just days before the attack) he lists several philosophical works (J.S.Mill, Plato, Hobbes, Machiavelli, etc.) and claims to like classical music and vocal trance (no other genres listed).

Basically religious people (who are mostly by definition right-wingers) are bloodthirsty mother****ers and we'd all be better off without them.
