  • Well I have been through many dates through online dating but none of those seem to go anywhere either. I'd actually like to meet more women generally, especially in that kind of context, but I don't know, that just never quite happens. And I feel a bit too old to be still figuring this out by now. But there are other things in my life that remind me that I am going to be a very, very lonely man if I don't figure this out.

          • PH, what I meant is when you were talking about chemicals and saying there was no such thing as love...

In terms of absolutely everything else I get on with men and women alike (in fact I get along with women far better than the average man it would seem). But I have no self confidence with women. Too many years have eroded any kind of confidence in that respect, and it also made me so self-critical that I have a very deep problem in that I could never see how any woman could see me attractive. Sounds silly, and it is, but it is a veritable death sentence. At this point in life the cost of this problem is more than I could've ever thought - no companionship, no family, nothing. I don't like to feed the piranhas at this place but I feel this needed to be said. I do put on a lot of bravado regarding my situation, but the truth is rarely so simple. Funny really, everything else is life has been going like a dream - far better than I could've ever predicted. I've managed to sort out the difficult stuff in life and f**k up the real simple basics that everyone else takes for granted.

But trust me, I do not regard women in the same way as Albie. Many of my best friends are women, unlike Albie who just wants a [ferengi]FEMALE[/ferengi] to bear his offspring.
Who says that I believe in that?

Actually, I'm apparently in a similar boat as you. I have no family, no companionship, no close friends... just me, myself, and I.

You have in the past mentioned love being just chemicals, I thought.

                  • Please. Biochemicals. If I did Actually I have normally avoided talking about anything regarding my love life for many years.

And Albert, do you forget what you posted? You basically said that women are all the same - receptacles to put your d**k in. Or have you forgotten?

Doubtless you've been told this many times before, but even if you're just employed, healthy and clean someone's going to want you- and you have a lot more going for you than that.

Still, if you're hitting the online dating you're doing the right thing.

                      • Yeah, but it is slow progress. I just wish I could stop being so timid about these things in real life. Because I am not timid about anything else. Not by a long shot.

That's just facts of biology. No one can deny that. Sexually-speaking, most women will do. I also said we as men are ***-spigots for them.

What I said about women being all the same has to do with emotional attachment. Any particular woman you're in love with is not all that unique. You can fall in love with at least a dozen other women.

                          • Even on purely evolutionary grounds, you're wrong.
