      What the hell?

Clearly I must not have the requisite knowledge of biology so all the self-reflection in the world wouldn't do jack ****.

From my understanding, we are just machines programmed to engage in sexual activity for the replication of our genes.

How does that make women completely interchangeable?

Why? Because of sexual selection, it's not that anyone would do? Sexual selection from the perspective of males is not significant, though. The limited reproductive capability of females means females are the limiting factor who determine which males to reproduce with. For males of virtually all animal species, most females will do. The onus of sexual selection is on the female.

See above. In a purely biological sense, male animals seek to spread their seed among as many females are possible; the mean female is perfectly adequate. Intersexual selection is contingent on the female.

              • Anyway my point was that even emotionally, if a man realizes that no single woman is that special and that there's dozens of other women that he's as compatible with and that can make him as happy, that man will be liberated and would reach a point where no woman can dominate him.

Well not exactly. 'Succesful' men try to pick out the 'attractive' ones (however that is interpreted in different cultures). If spreading seed among as many 'females' would be the main objective, then we would all be living in a hierarchical big man society, in which the group follows the most powerful male.

I think we're pretty far beyond that stage now... It's not because this behaviour existed someday (in a distant past), when it fitted in the world as it existed back then, that it's a biological trait destined to happen in every societal constellation.

And Albert, this comes down to more than just someone to spread your seed with. As you can tell we do things that are not a necessity of nature. Don't you want a companion in life...that is probably more important than anything. In fact at the moment it is not someone to share misery with but someone who I can share my life with...things are going well, but it is lonely. I don't know Albert, it's hard to describe and I don't think you get it. I don't think a lot of men get it...

Do I have sex? Am I getting married? Why does it sound like you think I want to 'spread my seed'? I'm just saying biologically that's why we exist.

Does everyone lack reading comprehension? How many times do I have to repeat... that's just biology. We transcend biology. But my point that no woman is unique still stands because the emotional connection you desire with a particular woman can be had with dozens of other different women.

                              • I think you are using the wrong words. All women are unique and are not interchangeable, substitutable or replaceable. You perhaps mean that "there are plenty more fish in the sea" to use the colloquialism.
