"Wrong" is such a strong word. I ....modified some of my views. Which means that either I betrayed everything which is good and right in the world, or that I'm not completely incabable of learning.

I don't state which views exactly cuz I'm paranoid that people will hold it against me in future debates

That being said, I'm nevar wrong in ongoing debates.

I was wrong when I thought Loin was spoofing about his ancestor and the death march since I was able to find it online in about 10 seconds and figured that's where he got it from.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

When I registered here, I rooted for death penalty along the lines of MWHCII's discourse. Then again I intended to be obnoxious at the time. Not surprising considering how old I was then

I was wrong to believe that:

            1. it was possible to have a rational discussion online.

            2. the "radical" gay rights activists should stop pushing the marriage issue (since I believed it to be counter-productive). In one of the few exceptions to number 1, I changed my mind about that issue during a discussion about gays in the military with Wittlich, one of a handful of rational posters here.

As an enlightened soul in perfect balance and harmony with myself and the universe, it is not possible for me to be wrong about anything, ever.

You probably could find it if you were willing to dig through his posts. I dismissed his advice at the time, but then came around to his thinking.

I used to be far more rightward leaning fiscally than I am now. I blame it on youthful exuberance . I tended to always be a bit social left leaning, to the point where I argued forcefully against religion (one can argue if that's a hallmark of left leaning-ness, but I'll put it there for now). I used to have far less compassion for those who were less fortunate than me and think of things solely as economic spreadsheets (ie, sacrificing the welfare of the poor in certain aspects shouldn't even be considered a 'necessary evil' since its for the benefit of the majority of people and thus not evil). I was also pro-death penalty up until my conversion to Christianity. To be honest, a lot of my views changed after I became a Christian. I have become far more compassionate on the plight of the poor, willing to sacrifice some economic efficiency to help out those in need and being against the death penalty and the uber-consumerist society we are in (which I championed when I was younger). And there are likely a few other things.

Interesting Imran. I shifted the other way. I used to be a social + fiscal leftist before my Poly days.

No, I found Christ. I never was a commie or anything like that, but I used to be -2, -2 on the political compass.

I thought web forums were going to be a passing fad. I remember thinking to
myself that such an inferior way of communicating (inferior even compared to
Usenet, which has branching threads) can't possibly last. 12 years have
passed since. I'll give it a year or two more and then I'm going to reconsider my
                            position.

So you've been substantively wrong in real life and online, yes.

loinburger, I used to be one of those "I'm an agnostic, not an atheist!" pussies because I didn't really understand what the words meant. It was actually an argument with you that cured me of that misapprehension and made me realize I met the definition of an actual atheist.

Yes, I've been wrong a couple times in life.

There were a couple times when I thought I was wrong about something, but it turned out that I was right.
