  • I doubt it matters - I don't foresee us withdrawing support from the probable terrorist sympathizers in power for fear of them falling to the certain terrorists and terrorist sympathizers who ostensibly oppose them. There are probably high level talks going on right now in which the American ambassador is saying "what the ****" and the Pakistani ambassador is saying "meh, whatever."

Nice to see HC showing as much class as those goat f... - sorry - Palestinians who celebrate the death of Israelis...

Way to prove that you're basically just a goat****er yourself, dude...

Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

      • Oh, God forbid anyone celebrate the death of an evil man

Let's have a moment of silence for Hitler, who took his own life 66 years ago. Every human life is special. The more horrible crimes someone commits, the more "civilized" it is to show apathy when they're taken down.

Meanwhile, celebrating Reagan's death is a-ok. At least Mobius is consistent in his principles - he is in favor of whatever will irritate or annoy the most people, be it hating Reagan or loving Osama

It would be interesting to do a study tracking how consistently at odds he is with the site zeitgeist in every thread he posts in, but the search feature is too horrible to make it worthwhile

          • A lot of people in the middle east don't consider him evil.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Not considering someone who orchestrates a terrorist attack on thousands of civilians evil is pretty twisted. But I'm sure they think the use of predator drones is evil

              • Of course Asher will tell us that they only hate us because we bombed Kosovo or something. He says it's US interventionism that makes us a target, after all. That's why we were attacked on 9/11!

                • Why do you think we were attacked?

                  • For the same reasons as all the other Al Qaeda attacks (embassy bombings, USS Cole, etc). I think it probably had something to do with us partnering up with Saudi Arabia. Support for Israel might have played a part as well. At the end of the day I think they mainly hate us because our beliefs in freedom and democracy are essentially antithetical to radical Islamic law.

Anyway I don't think they attacked us because we have bases in Germany or bombed Kosovo or played chicken with the USSR.

The flip side of that conundrum is the P- understanding that they have to appear to be fully co-operative with the US if they want the aid to keep flowing (or in extreme to prevent being on the enemies list).
What nonsense. The fact that there was a long history of mistrust between U.S. and Pakistan regarding our operations in their country is *precisely* why it makes no sense that Pakistan was aware of such a sensitive operation. U.S. intelligence operatives have been well aware for some time that officials in Pakistan were tipping Al Queda and the Taliban off to our moves when they knew of them. That's exactly why we've been operating unilaterally as of late, which is what has prompted outrage from Pakistan officials. The notion that we would for some reason involve Pakistan in what amounts to the biggest special forces coup of the century when there was high probability their knowing would lead to the job being botched is just risible.

Exactly, they are playing both sides of a two-sided game.
You really don't understand P- politics do you?.

I think it's adorable you're so naive that you think there's some sort of central Pakistani authority which makes all the decisions of when and when not to cooperate with the U.S., rather than understanding that the Pakistani government is a chaotic mess of loyalties wherein any knowledge of U.S. operations were at high risk of being leaked and foiled.

Does it really sound like they didn't know?

Both US statements and P- statements should be taken with a HUGE grain of salt.

At least try and be consistent in your tin foil ass hattery. Besides, Clinton did not say that Pakistan had any knowledge of the operation itself. Can't you read?

                            • Well considering people like bin Laden think the Saudi king should be overthrown for being too liberal, it's hard to imagine them liking us when you consider our culture.

                              • Why Osama hated us:

                                Soviets in Afghan....

U.S.: Osama's the man! Just call us and we will help you with anything you need!

                                Soviets out of Afghan....

U.S.: Osama who? Give us back our rockets Muslim boy! You want food for your people? What!?! Are you crazy?
