I guess Democrats felt they had other priorities, considering that there's no way a Republican house would let gays into the military. So I guess MrFun can take the blame for your unemployment on behalf of all gay people.

Somebody has photoshopped my face onto "Todd" from an Outsourced cast photo and added it as the debug splashscreen for our app. :gasmaske:

You could also say the democrats have stalled it, by not passing it last year like Congress was supposed to and by not ceding more to the Republicans. Like you say, it takes two to have a standoff. Point is, Congress is supposed to pass a budget in the early fall and the Democrats didn't even try.

You got me there. The Republicans have only stalled the budget process for, what, several months?Originally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostThey could have passed a budget all last year and didn't. They didn't even need to break a filibuster--reconciliation was intended for budgets.

I am hoping the 5% does increase. Although it probably won't for a while.Originally posted by rah View PostOnce you get settled in, you should be able to up the 5% some.
I never look forward to days when a majority of it is on the phone with Mumbai or the equivalent. If I didn't want to have to pay attention to someone that doesn't know what they're talking about, I could just stay home.
My new task is to audit our code and identify areas to be refactored, as well as provide estimates for how many person-hours it'll take to implement a litany of features they want for the next version.
In a month or two I may get to code again, once this train starts rollin'.

Although now I can't take the high road on employment with Alby as I still don't have a job locked down myself for this summer. Job I had planned on (one I had last summer) no longer exists because of the continuing resolutions (**** you democrats). And I have a relatively short summer since FCPS lets out in June but I'm going to college next year.

HC you just need to be smarter, then you can continue doing little work and keep getting good grades.

Once you get settled in, you should be able to up the 5% some.Originally posted by Asher View PostMy promotion was effective today, and I spent 75% of my time in meetings and the 20% of my time arranging meetings (hard to schedule meetings with people in Calgary, Ottawa, and Mumbai), and 5% of my time coding.

Your plans at this time are to leave in October. Your plans may change.Originally posted by Al B. Sure! View PostI haven't even started working yet but just got a call saying that my promotion to Assistant Manager was approved.

How's that for a promotion? I haven't even worked a day!
I'm actually a little concerned because I did not disclose I was planning on leaving in October. They may have long-term plans for me and I'll be screwing them by only working 5 months. Am I being unethical?
