So suck it up with work while it's there and then leave to get ready for the Marines.

I suggest strongly that you invest in a car.

That's all I can suggest to you. There's 10 people out there who would jump at your job. If you don't like it, quit, find something else and go from there. If your 'free time' is worth more to you than actually being able to make your living expenses, then by all means.
I need $150/week for housing, food, and a little extra on the side. $7800 a year is all I need to make my living expenses.

Give them your two-weeks and go back to lounging around like a bum. Look, I'm all for you quitting a job you hate, but if you're not going to make the effort to get a better one, then just stay where you are, enjoy the extra cash, and if you don't get in the marines, shoot yourself.

Al should be able to get a decent job with a financial degree, especially if he applies for work outside of Philly. It's certainly better than what I have. I graduated with two relatively useless degrees: architecture and history and I'm about to complete a masters in history. I'm starting a job next year that will pay $60k. You have to look far and wide for good opportunities and you can't pin all your hopes and dreams on one thing.

For how many seconds will they hesitate to fire you if they need to spare a dime ? It's their company and their headache to get the manpower they need, not yours.

You sound like some serf from the mediveal times

Read his posts. He says he's willing to work hard if it feels worthwhile. That's why he keeps trying to get into the marines (fwiw I have no idea why he thinks that is so worthwhile). I don't know where you're getting this "he's unwilling to put in the work required to get a high-paying job". Unless you think everyone who works hard gets a high-paying job so if he doesn't he must not be willing to work hard.

And like I said, I got hooked up because the District Manager is Palestinian. What kind of repayment is me promptly quiting?
Let's be honest here -- you're actually worried he'd suicide bomb your home.

There's no bullsh*tting around...you have to do what you need to do. If you find it unethical, serve notice and don't just walk out. I think they're playing you buddy with this whole dangling carrot thing. F**king sh*tty carrot though mind you. Then again I am a bit of a spoilt brat nowadays.
