I'm thinking the number of those with him is symbolic - a reference to the speculation in the books about him.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Technically it only spoilers the books if there was going to be some reveal that the Night King turns Craster's babies into baby Others (albeit that was a reasonable speculation of what happens to them).“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. What's new about the Night King? That he exists or that he turns kids into mini Others? We've had the stories told by Nan to Bran... and prophecies have a way of turning out to come true in the narrative structure of the books.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.
