I also haven't seen a final % - the Libs seem to have ended with about 18% of the pop/vote. If we had prop rep, they would have held about 60 seats to the Cons 40% - which would equal a bit over 100 seats. As I said the only obvious thing I've sussed out so far is in parts of ON and MB, provincial NDP who usually voted Lib federally, voted for Layton this time - I can see at least a dozen seats where the Cons won because the NDP voted...well NDP.

They campaigned too far left and Ignatieff blew a couple of things (the coalition issue and the ridiculous ravings of 'rise up', Syria, etc). Iggy scared the **** out of soccer moms in Southern Ontario.

Winnipeg South Centre, for example, the Libs "safe" seat west of Ontario, had an unprecedented number of NDP vote NDP rather than strategically prop up the Libs. The Con won by about 1200 votes. The NDP more than doubled its vote.

Actually, there's been a repudiation of the NDP outside of Quebec, They lost Elmwood Transcona to the CPC, Judy Wash the Dishes please, and her old riding.

Yes, I predicted an NDP rise, I did not see a compete collapse of Bloc. I thought the Libs would tank, but not as bad as they did. And I didn't think Canadians would really roll the dice on Harper majority. Asher's nervous, imaging how the left feel?
