Move to Canada, join the Canadian Forces instead. As we've established, they're more elite anyway.

Nobody in Philly ****s with the Canadian Forces. NOBODY!

Albie, if you really and truly cannot get ANY job(like, even at a fast food place). Join one of the other military branches. Or enlist in the Marines instead of being an officer.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

Nah man. I've done OCS twice. I know everything that happens there. Last time through, I killed everything; every test, event, and billet. I have more than what it takes to be a Marine officer.

No sense in settling for the Army or the Navy when I have what it takes for the Marines.

If you had what it takes, wouldn't you have made it in the first time? Some people are just meant to sit behind a desk.

Yeah tell that to the scout sniper Sergeant in my platoon who got sent home with fractures in his feet.

You have no idea how OCS works.

NOT a single one of you have been to Marine OCS. NOT a single one of you can speak on any of this. I'm the ****ing expert.

How useful would he be behind a desk? He should get a job at a fast food joint

You've probably gone through OCS more than any person in history. Expert indeed.

Actually no. Twice is very common. My second time, my platoon started out with 70 and wittled down to 40 by the time of my leg injury. There were 12 other guys who were prior-OCS candidates. One guy it was his 3rd time but he was PLC at first so he did 6 weeks, 6 weeks, sent home for a failure (NOT THE SAME AS INJURED), and then after a few years in which he wasn't sure what to do with himself, reapplied for the 10 weeks.

3 times is rare only because the failures usually get it right their second time through. Injuries are a whole another story though. Injuries are random and unavoidable.

I mean think about it... a guy falls off the rope and breaks his legs (some candidate does this about every week at OCS). He gets sent home. Would you say he doesn't have what it takes? NO! He just slipped off the rope! That says nothing about his leadership ability, character, or anything else. **** happens.

There is no recycling at OCS. You get injured, you have to reapply. Now, in the past what they did was NPQ's who were on point were recommended for enrollment in a 6-week PLC Seniors or Bulldog course (for Naval Academy and NROTC guys). They are still recommended by the CO, OCS but his word and the word of the OCS training staff has less weight with Marine Corps Recruiting Command than it used to, to the chagrin of a lot of injured guys like myself. I was recommended. MCRC didn't give a ****.

I wish I had been able to speak to the MCRC representative there, a Master Gunnery Sergeant. He was always very fond of me. It was cool by second time through when he would see me and talk to me to see how I was doing (the little human interaction like that is always great at OCS). I think Master Gunnery Sergeant would have tried to pull some strings for me if I could've talked to him.

What a massive waste of taxpayer money.
