that in the bigger picture, and especially for you in the US - this disaster is negligible radiation wise...

On an unrelated note to the nuclear "issue" - One of the more impressive points about this earthquake is that most of the buildings in big cities managed to withstand this M9.0 earthquake, and we are "only" talking about the deaths from the ensuing tsunami and not potentially hundreds of thousands or millions from cities being levelled by the earthquake itself, given that it was so close to major urban centres...

This point somehow evaded the media... in any case, impressive that most damage is tsunami related, plus nuclear plant issue, given that this was a top 5 earthquake measured.

I may have believed that with one exposed reactor but not four. If we had a expert on radiation, on these forums, we might get a better understanding of the potential risks of fall out from these exposed nuke plants. All we have is speculation.

Kyodo reported that radiation levels nine times higher than normal were briefly detected in Kanagawa prefecture near Tokyo...........

"The amount is extremely small, and it does not raise health concerns. It will not affect us," Takayuki Fujiki, a Tokyo government official said.

Note.. this was in two separate paragraphs in the same news report.

This just shows how the government and the industrial complex do not hold the people welfare and safety as there first priority. .......disgusting!
