Oh, not universally - there are some sane & decent people left, particularly at the state (and, presumably, local) level.

Further, as the election gets closer, there will be an effort to distance the party from Teh Crazy, especially once the primaries are over (this is, of course, not new). Seeing as they've stoked/stroked Teh Crazy for 3 years now, watching the attempt to kick Teh Crazy to the curb should be amusing (or possibly terrifying). This is already beginning.

Birtherism and the like. While I disagree (at times, vehemently) with the Tea Partiers on federal spending, simply wanting federal spending reduced is not by its nature Teh Crazy. It often goes hand-in-hand, but I'm sure there are Troofers who happen to agree with me on some other issue. They're still nuts.

A recent CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll showed that nearly 75% of Americans believe Obama was definitely or probably born in the United States. More than four in 10 Republicans, however, believe he probably or definitely was not born in America.

40% of Republicans are morons. Sad.
