Yeah, what the hell does free will even mean anyway? Seems like people made it up so they could claim their omnipotent god isn't ultimately responsible for bad stuff.

So, I guess Scientology must be real too...
I hope one day you can have faith.

And, indeed, if there is only one God, why are there so many religions? How does one choose?

I know most people don't choose, they are just indoctrinated into whatever their family believed, but that doesn't seem like a good reason to choose to me.
One does not have to be religious to believe in GOD.

            • Whenever I use the argument that when I look around and see all the EVILS in the world and say I can't believe (or refuse to believe) in a god that let's this happen especially to all the innocent children, I always hear back the free will stuff.
But doesn't the bible say that in the old days, that God didn't like what man was doing and decided a redo was in order and sent a flood to scour the planet of evil. (which also proves that god does indeed make mistakes) Looking at todays world, it has to be at least as bad. Where is God's flood now? So there is really no God, or he just doesn't care enough anymore. Either way, no reason to worship this one. Don't laugh too hard. It's no worse than what's been thrown out as proof that there is a god.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I really don't think there was a real earth covering flood.
I think this story is for for teaching.
                  BTW.

                  • That's the other problem I have. Some people throw out bible passages to support all sorts of crazy arguments. I don't think you can not believe some passages while using the others as proof.

They put too much into literal translation from a book that was translated from aramaic to hebrew to latin to german to english. so forth.
                      Translation can be misinterpreted.

                      • Just more reasons not to accept it as proof of anything. Does anyone have the original texts?

                          Don't think so.
Dead sea scrolles is the oldest( me thinks)

                          BTW
Whole books are missing from the present book.
