      Science? Not

Reason etc... that depends on who you talk to.

This is what you aren't getting. Any religious person on this website can be just as rational as any athiest. But it's the athiest who can not go a step further and have faith.

That's hypothetical, however I would disagree.
          I believe in Zeus.

You can't be wholly rational and be religious. You can be rational in any other case other than religion.

But it is not rational to believe in something because you believe in it, and not because there's any evidence for it.

Faith and Rationality are not on a continuum. They are separate concepts.

Do you not comprehend that it is irrational to believe in something purely because you want to believe it?

I say God doesn't exist because no one ever made a measurable observation of him/her/it (that can be verified).

You say god exists because ???

Of course they are seperate. That's why I'm saying to go beyond rational. That said, I disagree with your claim that a rational person can not be religious. Explain please.

You have it all backwards. Humans are naturally inclined toward faith. We have faith that the Sun will rise, that when we jump we'll come back down, that loud sounds are indicative of danger, that our partners won't betray us, that the drivers on the road won't intentionally crash into us, etc.

Faith is the natural state of human existence. Reason and rationality are exceptional. It takes rational thought to understand orbital mechanics, gravity, the brain, our own cognitive biases, etc.

That seems to me to be a foolish reason.

I will decline to say, because I'm not inclined to spend enough time explaining.

That's not true. It's rational, if for the only reason, it gives you hope. And it is possible to believe what you want to believe, with some limitations.
