The key phrase is "when there are no other explanations". When we understand our world, faith in the supernatural diminishes and is replaced by knowledge of the natural.
This is why religion is a dying concept. This is why church attendance is down. It's on a slow slide to obscurity.
It doesn't change the fact that the default human condition is inclined to believe in the supernatural until we know better. We just know better now. Well, most of us.I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... Do you like beer Senator?

Why would I explain something so absurd and something I've clearly never said?
Knowledge of science replaces supernatural beliefs of the unknown. Instead of thinking the Gods make the sun rise, we know exactly why the Sun rises.
And similarly why does the increase knowledge of science lead to lower church attendance?
The more we understand about the world, the less we turn to fantasy and supernatural explanations. Those are what religions are based on.
If you know better then do please explain it to me."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "
