There are TWO SIDES in the market for labor. If people don't want to work a job where they're expected to work 60 hour weeks then employers will find it difficult to get employees for such jobs.
Define "to want to work a job".

Is the 60 hour requirement a productivity thing, or it is just expected that you sit in the chair for 60?

I noticed that you have time to post on Poly while you are at work.
Err, yeah every two hours I post on poly for 5 minutes via my phone.

Good God: to be willing to exchange time and effort under given conditions for given pay.

If the revealed preference of workers is such that they are willing to accept sufficiently lower compensation for relatively fixed and short hours, then employers will accommodate that. If the revealed preference of workers is to take higher comp for longer and more variable hours then employers will accommodate that too.

The view of workers as being on the wrong side of the dictator game with employers is laughable.

            • Again, you're describing a place with a competitive job market which simply doesn't exist in most rural areas. As I pointed out earlier there are a lot of people with mobility issues and so who cannot move some where else easily.

How can someone with your supposed working experience be so clueless on the true nature of employment in America?

You act like the workers have all the cards.

My subordinates were interchangeable and easily replaceable. I was as well.

What gets me is that he's calling us all dumb and dense without wondering if maybe he's missing the forest for the trees or something... I know that if everyone's opposed to me, I start to wonder if I'm looking at things the wrong way. Of course, KH is a genius and will just dismiss us as being wrong.

Ah, another classic dodge--trying to pretend that someone who is clearly an expert doesn't know as much as you do because he gets his information from books.

                      • The EU is a perfect example of a supposedly mobile work force (most people could relocate to other areas where there are jobs) but in reality mobility is hugely hampered due to language, culture, and differences in qualifications even with the efforts at convergence with in the various EU states.

So by making fun of KrazyHorse in the manner that you did, were you trying to say something else? Why don't you clarify what rational argument you were trying to make with the statement that KH is an economist who lives in NYC?

What you said was entirely rhetorical and I called you out on it. Make a real argument or don't complain when people point out your fallacies.
