You might also want to choose a more likable character to start your defence with.
I offered albie some advice when he first came back. Since then, it's become apparent that he's uninterested in any concrete advice to improve his life, and instead simply wants a forum in which to express his victimhood.
He was born with greater-than-average intelligence, went to a decent enough university, but when it came time to doing the actual hard work of finding a job in which to continue his training, he lost interest when the opportunity to land in the top 1% of university graduates was not handed to him on a silver platter.
I find this attitude repugnant, and am not afraid to tell him so.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

In many jobs there's a quality vs quantity trade off. I would wager that even KH would produce higher quality work with a shorter working week. It's the competitive environment that drives the hours. Not necessarily that it's the most efficient use of resources.
It's role dependent obviously. Mainly applies to roles that require you to think.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth

I remember a few years back when my brother was working at KPMG... he was working 18+ hours a day. Ridiculous. But it worked out for him. 5 years out of college and he's set for life. THough if he had stayed at KPMG it probably wouldn't have happened. Just happened to impress the right person with his work ethic.

I flirted with the investment bank industry for a few years when I lived in London and decided it just wasn't for me. Sure I'm worse off for that decision financially - but far better off, er, 'spiritually'...

Imagine you're a doctor. Oh, I'm sorry, I can't give you that surgery because I've already worked 37.5 hours this week. I don't care that you're going to die otherwise, it's illegal!
Besides, 40-hour workweeks are a ****ing joke. If that's the most you can take, you are a giant ****ing baby.If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

Can't speak for Hubris Collider, but if I was being prepped for cardio-thoracic surgery I really wouldn't feel too impressed by knowing that my surgeon was working an 80 hour week. The genesis of the "evil Finn" concept- Evil, evil Finland

The 37.5 hr work week is more to stop exploitation through overhours becoming the accepted norm. Any job I've had in the UK I've simply signed a waiver and worked in excess of the legal maximum (48hrs I believe) without concern. One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

At least you can sign a waiver so the law isn't totally disastrous. If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

We would probably get better quality health care and cheaper if we opened up the medical community some by decreasing requirements on those training to be doctors.
There would be more doctors, and they would work less hours.
