This thread has become interesting now. My experience is that some men of European decent are sick and tired of women who want to be men. This has nothing to do with work or position in society. In Thailand for example many women own their own businesses and most work outside of the home. The sad fact is that Thai and most other Asian women are not afraid to be feminine. My wife does not serve me as if I was some Roman master and she is free to do as she pleases. I know several couples of White/Asian mix and they are of course all Asian women and White men. I have never even seen the opposite.
My wife had no desire to marry a foreigner and move to America. I met her in Thailand in the store she ran with her sister in Bangkok. Of course many Asian women frankly want more money and a better station in life but I think that in this day and age racisim has nothing to do with it, though that may have been true in the past.
Thai women are mostly looked down upon if they marry a "farang" (foreigner of European decent). My wife's mother got physically ill when I became engaged to her daughter because of all the gossip in the village. They were sure that her daughter was a whore now that she was going to marry a foreigner. In our case it really was love. And even though some of my friends admit that their wives married them for money even that has blossomed into a lifetime loving relationship. Mostly, I suppose, because Asian women enjoy being women and do not find it degrading to please their husbands and raise a family.
