        "Black Whores"

The NAACP is at the end of its mission, and like all organizations it is not prone to graceful diminishment or self disbanding. It will participate in mission creep until it mangles itself into something ridiculous instead of simply riding off into the sunset.

I doubt people from the New Black Panthers like King Samir Shabazz who promote killing white babies really seem any better than nutty KKKers to anyone reasonable anymore.

The US Justice Department apparently thinks they are swell fellows.

Why would you think people at the US Justice Department are reasonable?

Actually, I think this whole issue is a masterful ratfvck by the Dems. Unfortunately for the Dems, the tea party movement retains a lot of energy and the Dems don't really get why that is so.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I never understood the tact of ad hominem against vast swaths of the electorate and how that could be considered a winning tactic.

I think they are looking at this as protecting against the independents being swayed by the tea party. If they really understood where the movement was coming from, they would see it as a much bigger threat to the GOP establishment and just sit back and relax.

The NAACP is at the end of its mission...

From their website, "The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination."

Racism is not over. We've come a long way, but auditing still shows blacks have trouble finding jobs due to both overt racism and more tacit methods such as where jobs are advertised etc.

NAACP no longer does anything other than pay its employees to get offended at nonsense.

So no one here wants to have a discussion about race issues.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

We're pretty much all honkies here. Race issues scare us, except for Hera who has entirely different Race Issues.

With that out of the way, the NAACP is an irrelevance. As a moderate, I wish the Tea Party would go the hell away and stop encouraging the GOP to become more loopy than it already is. Or become sufficiently extreme themselves that they can be beaten, tear-gassed or fire-hosed. Either-or.
