  • Why do Conservatives love people who break the law?

I'm sick of conservatives asking why liberals love people who break the law, so I'm turning it back on them.

A conservative recently told me that the company he works for breaks the law when it doesn't suit them.

Why do companies break the law so much, and why do conservatives love law breakers?

Here's another example of conservative love of lawlessness:

In this thread Ben is defending someone who violated the bubble zone law. She broke the law on numerous occasions and must face the consequences.

Ben is in his own little world, so I wouldn't use him as an example of a typical conservative. Also, lefties have a history of protesting things when they're told not to protest, so I don't think that is a very good example.

No, not unreasonable, incredible. You've never heard of corporate crime?

Well there's a difference between loving someone who breaks the law because of moral principles and someone who breaks the law out of greed, and/or pride.

Conservatives don't love corporate crime, you idiot. They disagree on what should be considered crime.

Yeah, in other words, there should be no laws that apply to corporations?

People have loved law breakers for at least as long as the Robin Hood stories have been around. It ties in with a desire to resist injustice. Some people just have a different sense of what is unjust. I don't regard all criminal behavior as being equally repugnant. I think it's no surprise that I believe anti-marijuana laws are incompatible with a free society. Conservatives would have the same attitude about pro-life protesters who violate protective bubbles around abortion clinics.
                      John Brown did nothing wrong.

Are incense makers conservative? Hookah pipe manufacturers?

I believe that fundamental freedoms trump these silly laws. So it's not that there's disrespect for the law, but that this law is contrary to other, more important laws.

Everyone has their own interpretation of what "fundamental freedoms" implies. Different people have contradictory interpretations and it's impossible to satisfy everyone. For example if abortion were outlawed pro-choice people using the same reasoning could decide it's okay to break the law. Your line of reasoning does disrespect the law.

Not really. Americans are guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
How does an aborted fetus collect on those guarantees?
