This thread is another example of how celibacy among Catholic clergy is working so well.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Wow, Mr. Fun is against clerical celibacy.

        Gosh. Alert the presses.

actually, growing up as a catholic I always found this one of the more strange aspects of the religion. It made no sense then and still doesn't.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I find it funny that BK only regards the opinion of voters as important to measure approval rating.

So, if 10% of the population vote, of which 75% vote for a candidate, and the remaining 90% hate the candidate, he's got 75% approval rating Flawless reasoning

People who don't vote shouldn't complain about who wins, but going from there to saying their opinion doesn't count a bit too much...

Considering that it isn't a Catholic thing but is rather a Latin Rite thing.

                Their opinion is worthless.

Among the only people who count. You want your voice to be heard? Vote. It's not exactly hard to do.

Unfortunately for you, everyone is a citizen and everyone matters regardless if they vote. Approval ratings are not done just for people who vote for a reason.

Doing away with celibacy vows brings a whole other set of problems. But by no means is it something set in stone, since for much of the church's existence, a vow of celibacy was not required for priests.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Why? People who choose not to vote get no say in the system.

If you are too lazy to vote then what else are you too lazy to do?

If you can't get your butt out to door to push a button on a computer to decide the fate of your country for four years, then I don't have any problem with discounting your opinion.

                            HC, YOU can't even vote!

There are many groups that can't vote though discounting their opinion would make you a douche. Legal immigrants for one. People with felony convictions, including those out on probation and parole can not vote (EDIT: to be clear, there are 18 states that allow parolees to vote). In fact, in 10 states, a felony conviction bars you from voting FOR LIFE and in other states, it requires a lot of bureaucratic paperwork to be done for you to be able to vote with a past felony conviction even as a free man. It's actually absurd that people with convictions decades ago can not vote in 10 states in this country.

13% of Black males are disenfranchised in this country because of that.

Perhaps this 13 percent should obey the law, like the other 87 percent do.
