If you want to talk about wasting ****loads of money, let's take a look at the catholic church. Instead of spending the resources they have on helping their flock, they spend it on outrageous displays of wealth. Massive cathedrals, are just one example... does God really care if places of worship are so fancy? The RCC has a treasure chest of wealth, and they aren't willing to share it with the poor.
Talk about wasting a ****load of money... And then they whine about how they have to close schools in poor areas because they lack the funds, something that really helps their flock, while supporting themselves like kings at the Vatican... Jesus was happy walking around in a simple robe and sandals... he didn't need to wear expensive vestments or wear a silly hat when he preached the word of god.
The RCC should follow that example and give all their wealth to the poor.

Me, I value people. Unlike the clowns who climb a mountain and get trapped, she was adequately provisioned, and because of her preparations she's going to be ok. Her rescue is not due to a mistake she made, but the fact that her mast snapped.

If only everyone took her attitude, we'd have many fewer rescues, and people would be far more prepared before undertaking their quests.

Kind of amusing seeing people get so worked up over this. She is free to do as she pleases but the family should be billed for the expense of rescue. From what I understand the decision to go during this particular time of year has drawn some criticism since the storms seem to be worse now. This only makes it more difficult for the people charged with going to rescue her.

She lit two, thinking, well what happens if I only light one and it doesn't get through? Better light two and make sure they hear me. I'd wager she's sleeping since there's not much else she can do.
