IMO, it's a lot more interesting to watch than the typical NFL "run 3 yards, rinse, repeat" game.

Are you familiar with the Eagles, Colts, Patriots, and Texans? Andy Reid in fact is allergic to running the ball.

And the bloody bad part probably has more to do with talent level than anything else. The NFL obviously is going to attract the better players, coaches, personnel managers, etc.

But I suppose hockey is much more the sport to watch in Canada. How does baseball and basketball fare relative to football, especially since you guys have teams in our leagues in those sports? Is football #2 after hockey in Canada or would you say basketball (I think invented in Canada by the way) and baseball are more popular than football?

In the US, football and baseball are huge (football both professional and college; baseball only professional), with basketball significantly less popular, hockey less popular than basketball, and that's pretty much it.

I haven't watched much football at all in a lot of years.......I do remember some entertaining antics on the part of the Dallas Cowboys back when Roger Staubuck was Qbing for them. [/oldfart]

Agreed. The talent follows the money, and there is a lot more money in the NFL than the CFL.

I'm biased on this one. I don't find basketball to be at all entertaining.

That said, I think baseball is more popular than basketball, but both come second to hockey. A lot depends on where you live, most significant Canadian cities have a football team and a hockey team, but only Toronto has a baseball team and a basketball team. TO has the largest population of any metropolitan area in Canada (~3 million people out of the ~30 million in Canada) so it does make sense. College/University level sports aren't nearly as hyped up here as they are in the US.
