    Hey HC, wrong again, bucko:

    National average: 2.2%

Where are you? Fairfax county? Fairfax is 16.7% Jewish.

Which is funny, since this is something he doesn't seem to have any experience with.

                I stand corrected.

(I'm also not seeing how this is relevant. Are you stipulating that those of Jewish heritage are wealthier and less prone to drug use? Thank you for your kind words! You're still racist though.)

Oh, and it's not obvious that that sequence of events actually results in increasing incomes - in which case you would still, ultimately, have reasonably high price elasticity.

This was established in the other thread... 46% of Jewish families earn more than $100K a year compared to 18% for the national average.

Are you saying that a crackhead won't find a way to get crack? Are you serious?

By your reasoning, addicts will cease to be addicts pretty quickly.

This objection shows that you clearly don't understand what elasticity means.

                            • Kuci:

The point of all this was to respond to HC's comment that decreasing supply will result in increased prices of drugs and this would prevent people from buying drugs. That is false. It would not happen like that.

**** measuring elasticities. The point is what he said was wrong and it should have no bearing on public policy-making because that logic won't fly.

There is very little that would prevent an addict from getting his drugs... especially higher prices.
