      More. Definitely. Punk music in the 80s directly influenced just about every non-rap and non-country artist today, directly or indirectly.

                    Of Weezer's songs, it is certainly exceptional. FWIW, the music video for the song was the first music video ever to be digitized for home use. It was shipped on the Windows 95 CD.

                        Smokey Robinson is R&B; and Asher already acknowledged Blues, so it's not that. He's voicing his opinion.
                        I like Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Dave Koz which are Jazz.

                          And I didn't diss Jazz either.

                          In fact, right now the band I'm really into is heavily Jazz & Blues inspired:

                              I fail to see how let's say John Legend or Raphael Saadiq or (I daresay) Robin Thicke are not the spiritual successors to Smokey Robinson or Luther Vandross. Or how Musiq or D'Angelo are not the spiritual successors to Stevie Wonder.
