If we had your electoral system we'd have had one a long time ago too. We have Green Euro MPs where it's proportional system for ages.

I'm looking forward to voting again before the year is out.

Probably not much point listening to the British posters here, totally unrepresentative on this site compared to how Britain as a whole voted. (70% Lib Dem 20% Labour 0% tory on this site poll)

I believe 324 seats gives majority control, not 326. This is because Sinn Fein never accept their seats in the UK parliament and this effectively reduces the seats needed for a majority.

tories plus liberals would have 59% of voters behind it, and might allow us (well you ) to avoid another election in quick sucession. labour + liberals + nationalists means another vote very soon.

there's been a massive swing away from labour and i think the liberals realise this and will be reluctant to work with them.

Tory should align with SNP, give scotland independence. They would then have a true majority in parliament with all Scottish seats out of the way.

That idea does have the advantage of freeing the Scots from the Tory ****s, if no other

                        • yeah it's pretty outrageous. they had places running out of ballot papers for goodness sake. i just don't understand how that can happen, they know how many people are entitled to vote in any one polling station, so why can't they have enough ballot papers to cover that many?

apparently there weren't enough staff in some polling stations as well, which seems incredible. why couldn't they have got some of the 'diversity advisers', '5 a-day co-ordinators' and 'smoking cessation officers' and other occupiers of council non-jobs to help out?

That's a good point actually that hasn't been mentioned on the BBC.

                            • Guardian mentioned it.

                              • Hehe, Cameron mentioned different areas where the Tories and Liberals can agree and just quickly glossed over electoral reform. Darn.
