Leftists are more likely to view Avatar" bit? Sure, the movie leans toward the left, but I thought most people viewed it for the eye candy.
Yeah 'leans to the left' is a bit of an understatement. Stalin would say it leans to the left, and most conservatives boycotted the movie. I only know of a few who did watch it and they all let us know that it was a dud.

? Are you referring to the percentage of the population that identifies as "Liberal" or "Democrat?" I'm pretty sure those people look to Clintons and Kennedys and such as their ideological leaders, NOT James Cameron.
I'd wager these folks look more to Cameron now post-Avatar than they do either Clinton or Kennedy. The Kennedys and the Clintons are both washed up.

His job, like all Hollywood types', is to entertain us, not to come up with political advice. He sometimes does anyway, which I find annoying--but other people were apparently willing to tolerate it, provided the smurfs spewing it were sufficiently realistic. Good for them.
Hey, you'll get no argument from me. I preferred Alice in the 3D, and I voted with my pocketbook. Apparently I wasn't the only one to do so.

I think Cameron has more of an effect on the general mass of people who are not all that interested in politics, and Avatar is a means for Cameron to help encourage them to think in a manner favourable to what Cameron wants them to.

So, Cameron is pro gun-rights and believes that violence is sometimes the answer.

What do you lefties think about that?

It's great, imagine Terminator, Avatar or Aliens without guns!

Not sure why anyone is supposed to take his politics seriously. He's not a major political figure. Unlike Palin who is a major political figure (of fun).

FWIW, I thought I'd add that I was pretty lukewarm about the whole AGW for/against crowd, but after reading HL & Cos recent thread about it I became thoroughly convinced that AGW "skeptics" make retards look like Albert Einstein. Can't they be turned into useful people?

I think it's wrong. See my FACT post earlier.

That site (geocraft) was the 1st one that I've read that actually made sense and didn't come across partisan so far. I haven't read the whole thing and have spotted some possible flaws in their reasoning, but 100 times better than anything else I've read.

Somebody cares about James Cameron's political views?

That said, what he said was crappy.
