And they would be mistaken, because James Cameron has negligible political clout.
How does that address my cogent question as to whom has more people following him? Just because you liked the movie doesn't mean you are a leftist, sure. But leftists are far more likely to watch Avatar.

Food for thought: during the runup to the 2004 election, just about everybody in Hollywood, down to whoever was "best boy" for Gigli, campaigned against W. W still, amazingly, won, despite the immensely unpopular Iraq war on his back.
Question. Does 48 percent of the population of the USA constitute negligible political clout? Two, are you asserting Kerry's political clout then is about equal to Cameron's today? Terrible analogy.

Palin's using a metaphorical slogan to get her party elected, Cameron is talking about shooting people.

Cameron didn't tell people to go to a sight listing specific targets, while Palin did. This is pretty pathetic even by your standards.

                Big difference.

What on earth do you mean by "following him?" Watching his movies? Lots of people do that, and it's meaningless. Take careful note of his political views? Very few people do that AFAIK. Also, can you cite anything to back up that "Leftists are more likely to view Avatar" bit? Sure, the movie leans toward the left, but I thought most people viewed it for the eye candy.

Question. Does 48 percent of the population of the USA constitute negligible political clout? Two, are you asserting Kerry's political clout then is about equal to Cameron's today? Terrible analogy.
? Are you referring to the percentage of the population that identifies as "Liberal" or "Democrat?" I'm pretty sure those people look to Clintons and Kennedys and such as their ideological leaders, NOT James Cameron. His job, like all Hollywood types', is to entertain us, not to come up with political advice. He sometimes does anyway, which I find annoying--but other people were apparently willing to tolerate it, provided the smurfs spewing it were sufficiently realistic. Good for them.

And it was not, repeat NOT, an analogy. It was an illustration of how nobody gives a damn what people like Cameron think. Pretty much everyone in show biz pulled for Kerry to no discernible effect. Admittedly, this wasn't what I'd call hard evidence. If you can find a poll asking people how much they feel guided by the political opinions of the movie industry, feel free to post it here.

James Cameron is an ultra-left wing technophobe.

All his movies are great on special effects and short on logic. The fact that his movies are well liked by the masses says much about average human intelligence.

It doesn't say AGW; I presume he knows of the distinction.

The "Avatar" director was equally unsparing in his comments about those who don't accept global warming as fact.

"That's right," Cameron said. "I want to call those deniers out into the street at high noon and shoot it out with those boneheads."

Turning more serious, he added: "Anybody that is a global warming denier at this point in time has got their head so deeply up their ass I'm not sure they could hear me."

This is why left-wing nutcases are the awesomest. Even when they're trying their super hardest to get 'more serious', they still got nothin' but hysterical hyperbole and transparent morality-mongering.
