Awkward morning.

So the communication at this company is awful. I'd heard as early as Tuesday that they were going to "have me stay on two more months" because I've done so much **** I haven't been able to offload that knowledge onto replacements, and they're going to have to hire a couple(!) people to do it. But the people who told me this were ex-employees who heard from other friends in Montreal, management communication has been non-existent.

It wasn't til this morning that a director came by and told me they're going to offer me a two month contract to continue to work for the company because they're "up the creek without a paddle" on a bunch of projects that I've been helping out on, and there's no one readily available to replace me on them. The look on her face when I told her I'm interviewing for a full-time position in Calgary was...terror?

Now they're trying to sweettalk me into taking a "bank of hours" type contract where I could work evenings or weekends for a while and help out where possible. But they may have to sweeten the rate.

Ask for an obscene amount. They need you more than you need to work weekends.

I've got four more work days left.

A 2-day work week next week ( ) and a 2-day work week the next week.

I'm taking monday & friday off next week (monday because it's monday, friday because thursday is a stat holiday and I didn't want to come back to work on friday). Then my last day is the tuesday the week after.

I was going to be more diplomatic.

Something like: "I would like the rate to reflect that I will be assisting the company after my full-time job during the week and on weekends, which is personal time that I value very much."
