You want to turn him away from Nazis, you have to give him some sense of belonging and not abandonment. He's young. I'd take him to Auschwitz, but most of all he needs love and affection.

Remember, do you think Hitler would have cared, if people had bought his paintings? Rejection does strange things to people.

I will tell him that since he dropped out of high school and will never go to college, he should use that money to buy a property that he could use as a shop, to put his own grocery store there, something like that.

It's the contribute to the cause thingie that would worry me. He tells his nazi buds that he's coming into money and they'll contribute all types of suggestions on how to spend it. Granted this could happen with any group of friends but I see more possible negative outcomes when you factor in the Nazi aspect.

I don't think fear tarctics will work effectivile for this one. More like clever persuasion. I think importnat thing is to keep him away from contactac with hoolies, so he will keep being non-violent, threatning and out of police records. If it's just beliefs, people change their own ones every day byh reading a booik, seeing a movie, watchin gn inspirigin talker (other than Hitler too). Clearly he's into that whole whole (in a way underdog, cool uniform )thing, on the edge of the society and showing it to everyone. He is not necessarily a lost case, maybe just needs something good to do, some good people to see.

As a dropout, starting his own business might not be the brightest move. Setting up your own business is quite a task. You have to be driven to actually acomplish such a feat. It's much easier just getting a job.

If you consider him a friend of the family, just drop by. Play some ****ty WW2 games with him. Laugh with him. Show him you don't take the **** seriously in a non-offensive/deregotive manner. Give him attention by just being there.

The guy is 17. Basically an orphan for just half a year. Offcourse he might be doing weird things. Strong hiarchic movements are appealing to male juveniles in general. Don't worry too much. Hell, my nephew of the same age found Mussolini and dictatorship appealing when he had to do a paper for his secondary school. He's an intelligent kid, doing a high level secondary school. But the idea that a strong leader would make all the right decisions for the plebs not to worry seemed appealing. Only after I made it clear to him that HE most probably would not be the leader but just one of the plebs who would be decided for I started to see him question his opinions ;-).

Give the guy some slack and visit him, show him that he can join other communities then a Sturmabteilung


Oh, and since his mother sort of left him and his rolemodel has died, it's important some males get involved in his (still incomplete) upbringing. No offence meant, but the last thing he probably needs now is aunties or the like telling him that his nazi-fascination is plane wrong. Telling him how to use the laundry machine is an EXCELLENT thing for them to do, HIS mother failed on teaching him things like that.
