Actually Dan, NYC is much less "conservatively" dressed. DC suits are generally boring and cookie cutter. NY suits are usually more creative and individual. There's a difference between "formal" and "conservative"12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

Really? Wow.Not only did you have to wear a suit, It could only be blue or black. Shirts could only be white, eventually they allowed light blue. Shoes black, no loafers. And you could only take off your coat when you were sitting at your desk. If you got up for any reason, you had to put your coat on.
