Thanks Slow, I'm still coming off from drugs, I'm being fed a lot of codein-based pain killers snd and I'd like to stop them already. But better every day, they say I should be 100 % adn that I have a chance of rull recover and getting better from epilepsy as well. What can a man say to that, except thanks!

So I'll have my stiches removed this Friday. THey didn't actually believe us in the ER for the removeal (it was operated this Tuesday? You want stiches out this Friday?). Also, in the drug store, my gf was making the order for the meds as I was talking to the phone na then I came to the counter and the pharmacists was staring at me and said "this is him?", as in can't be operated just a few days ago(!). But it's true.

THese people were amazing professionals with amazing tools and amazinh hands and I had amazing fortune and support as well. I think I've gone even more republiclan after this though. My values are much more right and I hold their execution even much more important. But I'm not a strong opponent for UHC, it did work for me and I've seen it work in these serious cases. THe only thing is, there's still a lot of luck involved. I happened to live in a place that specialized for brain surgeries. But after that, the whole thing cost me less than 500 euros (including food, meds, everything). SO I can't really whine about the taxes for a loooooong time as I've been the receiveiver big time. In fact it's mostly my time to give. I have to start contributing more. Not necessraily pay more taxes but contribute in all kinds of other ways. If I had loads od money, I'd contribute it to these neurosurgeons next project in some way, try to set up some funding entity for similar worthwhile things. That's what i'd like to do.

Post op has been going well, instructions are easy enough. I'm not in pain nor do I get swelling, I sleep OK, I can read OK, everything is good.

I had a female buddy (no sex involved, just friendship), who lived in the same town as Pekka. She had a terrible accident at age 22, where she painfully smashed her spleen and had it removed. Believe it or not, a couple of drunk guys (also friends of mine) ran her over with a sledge in the snow.

She was fully aware of her situation and asked the doctor to put her removed spleen in a jar of ethanol, so she could keep it on a shelf as a souvernier. But the doctor refused, I don't understand why? It was her spleen after all, the doctor had no right to decide who should have it.

DM, not yet. I have talked to the surgeon though who said it's not a bad sign but that they fully expect it to be like was first analyzed - a very slowly developing non-cancerous and non-symptomous tumor. It might be exotic though, so still waiting.

CO, I've moved from Turku (not sure if I've told you), but if that's true, it's not fair, it her spleen. Who knows, it's part of her so not only is it something that should be hers to keep, it might be felt as a loss even though some shrink might disagree, but then again many shrinks buy into Oidipus-complex and regression being the the only to cause and effect for all adult mental problems. Maybe the doc thought it's not healthy, but it's not unhealthy either and it's her, so who is the doctor to deny this, I think they were just weirded out by the request.

I was thinking about the tumor-in-the-jar-thing as well. I half-seriously thought it would be cool to beat it first and then to have it in a jar in the bookshelf. Not like (or unlike) the whole fetuses in the jars thing. Not in a horror movie type of a way, but more like a science/important part of me/victory/etc sign. I bet it doesn't even look that gross to begin with. And it would remind me every day how lucky I have been when I feel unlucky or whine about something.

I was under the impression that I might be able to get it should I want to, the surgeon first of all is a really service oriented and likes me, plus he said that they videotaped it and asking my permission for it, so I know I could get that, I don't see any reason why I couldn't get the tumor, or part of it, should I want it. Maybe it would be a question of "well you need to have someone put it in the jar for you". But that's just arrangements.
