I'm also not really taking this argument all that seriously. People here seem to be treating it like the ten commandments. Etched on stone for all time. I guess it fits the meme that "Ben is just an idiot". I'm only too happy to play around. Do you think I sincerely *care* about what Poly thinks of me? I have fun being the ogre on here.
I'm having trouble working out a joke here. Ogre doesn't really work, so I'll mix it up a little and call you a giant, with the inevitable "fee fi fo fum I smell the blood of a [appropriate political reference here]." I'm sort of stuck at that point though.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

      Fee-fi-fo-fum!
I smell the blood of an Englishman.

Gosh, must be 20 years since I've heard that.

Also a male, which probably helped. And his particular brand of stupid, "iron-jawed know-nothing cowpoke" was more easily translated into a Great Leader myth than Palin's "Mom from Bobby's World on crack."

[Q=Boris Godunov;5705606]I guess now would be a good time to remind you that Reagan's popular vote % in 1980 was only 50.7%, while Obama's was 52.9% (the largest for a non-incumbent party candidate since Eisenhower in 1952).[/Q] Except there was a spoiler in the 1980 election. Reagan beat Carter by 50.7 to 41.0, nearly 10 points, 35% larger than Obama's 7.2 points.

"On crack" would probably be generous to Governor Palin.

I see, just because the Governor of Alaska didn't know what the "Bush Doctrine" was in an interview a week after being chosen as McCain's running mate, and because she called the Dems in Congress on their Health Death Care Reform she's "on crack?"

It's good to see a lot of men still see her as a potential **** and not a complete disaster.
