So I can openly proclaim that I am a racist bigot, yet nobody cares because they're too busy busting Ben's balls.

    This forum is awesome.

I think I've got it. If I rape a bunny, while praying for an end to Asher's godless sodomy, and then . . . I don't know.

There's really nothing I can do to out-troll Ben is there?

        Life sucks sometimes.

          Life is good, isn't it.

You should stop engaging him. It can be the only reason he won't go away.

Assuming this guy was acting one hundred percent on his own, I suppose not. If you want to be more closely analogous, suppose we managed to convince a Taliban nut to go psycho on his cavemates the way Hasan went berserk at Fort Hood. Of course, we wouldn't do that, when it'd be simpler and likelier to succeed if we just had him feed us the base location, etc. and had a Predator or something similar do the rest. But supposing (I'm not saying this was in fact the case) they deliberately reached out to American Muslim soldiers via the internet, something like Hasan would be their cheap-ass, bargain-basement equivalent of a Predator strike: surprise attack on unprepared enemy troops with no means of counterattack. Lord knows they're in no position to fight our way; they haven't the resources, so we'd whoop their asses every time.

Now, if Hasan wasn't actively encouraged to do this (and I imagine he wasn't, or it would've been better planned and more damaging), it's all moot. This is highly hypothetical.

The most important question to be asked from all this is why the **** was this guy still in the military? Since he clearly opposed the war, either he should have left voluntarily where he would've been free to do as he wished or he should've been given the boot as a security risk. It smacks of either incompetance or "political correctness" on the part of his superiors.
After Abu Ghraib, etc., I stopped expecting intelligent personnel decisions from the U.S. Army. They are, after all, a subset of the Federal government...

He was a terrorist wannabe. The question at hand is if the CIA relayed that information to the Army.

The process of infiltrating has nothing to do of the incompetence of military brass in getting rid of it.

Read up. The military may not have known all that was involved. Theoretically, the CIA knew. They're not known for their gabbiness.

According to ABC News that information was passed along to Army CID.
