    Or to be more precise:
I challenged those who made ipse dixit statments that Obama had done nothing,
I explained the basis given by the Committee for its award,
But I took the position that Obama has, as yet, not done enough to deserve the prize.

    • It looks there are things that can only be understood by they who lived enough time in
America and enough time out of America.

      • I know you were all dying to hear my opinion, which has probably already been given in this thread by someone else but oh well:

This is ludicrous. However, as they used to give the NPP to people like Kissinger and Arafat who actively undermined peace, giving it to people who've barely done a damned thing is a step in the right direction. Sort of.

            • Have you ever been to Houston. There is nothing there but long streets, crime, shooting, firearms, stench and women selling sex who look like your mother. I once stayed in a hotel in Houston and saw Astros slugger Jeff Bagwell. I asked him why his crouched stance made it look like he was taking a dump on home plate. He didn't answer, but his silence was a tacit admission it was a habit he picked up to minimize the chances of being struck by a stray bullet while using the can in Houston.

                  • THE AWARD WAS GIVEN BY FIVE GUYS in Norway. In America five guys make BURGERS.

                    • It's fun to see Zkribbler backtracking a bit while pretending that's what he meant all along.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

                      • Au contraire, Egyptian God of the Sun. My position has always been consistent:

That those folks who insist that Obama has done "NOTHING" to advance the cause of peace are living in an Obama-hating fantasy world.

That the Committee, in fact, gave a long list of accomplishments which they used to justify the award.

That all the posters who claimed Obama had done "NOTHING" had made no attempt to refute any of the Committee's factual findings. Rather, they resorted to the old Joe McCarthy tactic of the Big Lie: "Say a lie often enough and loud enough and people will begin to believe you." I will continue to fish-slap those posters who use this tactic and who think, by doing so, they are (a) being clever and (b) winning the argument.
