Sorry but gangsterrific rap is dead, at least on the East Coast. The closest thing you got now is State Property depressing rap... stuff like Got Nowhere, etc.

Of course, even he has songs about family:

I wonder if all the rap haters like Thoth, Sloww, and Cockney have been paying attention to our discussion. Rap today is nothing like it was in the 90's! Rap is so middle class and family values now
Whenever I hear an old person say something about rappers being cursing criminals talking about nothing but guns and drugs and hoes, I just
I'm exaggerating a bit but the music speaks for itself. It's obvious there's been a huge paradigm shift in the hip hop community.Last edited by Al B. Sure!; September 1, 2010, 21:35."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

See, AAHZ just never wants to get his mind out of the hood. That's why he doesn't like it. He doesn't like to see them age. He doesn't like people like Kanye West et al who are practically middle class nerd rappers.
I'm curious since all you and thoth really post are OLD songs... do rockers change? For the punk rockers, when they get into their 40's and 50's, are they still all sex, drugs, rock and roll, and angsty music? Or do they mellow out like rappers do when they get old?
