The Darwin artfag movie controversy thread got me to thinking about this question. My answer: I support cloning research because I don't have any reason to oppose it.

What group opposes cloning?

Perhaps you mean human cloning? More specifically, perhaps you mean the cloning of complete humans as opposed to organs tissues etc?

Why oppose the cloning of complete humans? Because our government is too pathetic to deal with even the most basic legal and moral issues, never mind the problems engendered by clones.

The only challenge would be getting the Senate to fund your clone army. The Japanese would be an easy sell for the Droid army.

Perhaps you could orchestrate a separatist movement to, well, separate something from FYROM, or indeed, separate FYROM from something.

I support cloning Andrew Jackson, and installing him as dictator for life of the entire world.

Otherwise I'm torn. Cloning research might result in a freak accident that unleashes zombie apocalypse, but if it doesn't then we've sunk a ton of money into something that won't do anything except make life better.
