what's an accepted statistical measure for gaining insight into a group's "predןsposition" for crime / deadlyness?
If I want to prove that Blacks are more 'murderous' than Israeli arabs, I need to compare their invovement in murders in the USA to the involvement of Israeli arabs in murders in Israel. Dividing this by their actual percentage in the population should compensate for the different % of blacks in US and arabs in Israel.
This is how I see it reasonable to even start comparing something along the line of what KH claims.
If there's a different way, I'm all ears.

The degree to which a subset of the population commits a murder more than the mean is NOT the likelyhood of that subset commuting a murder [over a given period]. The latter is exactly what a reasonable person would think it would be.

What ever point Che was trying to prove about evil racist Israel - this case has provoked an out-pour of sympathy in Israeli blogs,forums, and media. Racists exist everywhere, and Israel is no exception. The little girl has perfectly reasonable chances of getting some sort of reparation in court. Its not clear to me if the day care manager will be punished, it being a private venue.

This isn't in the West Bank (as far as I can tell) this story seems to be talking about Arab-Israeli citizens. So by your same logic the US could say segregate all Mexican-American kids into their own schools, fund them a tenth less than other schools and say "well, if you want equal education, go back to Mexico." (again, citizens, not illegal immigrants).

Anti-discrimination laws apply to public places and applying them to privately-owned day cares is not simple.
Here in the US it is that simple. Anti-discrimintaion laws DO apply to private day cares. Now if the day care decided to make Kosher habits mandatory, along with daily readings from the Torah and a bunch of other Jewish religious education and observances then the Arab girls parents wouldn't have a thing to complain about.
