If he was talking from a Comanche/Caddo/etc. point of view, maybe. Couldn't be called that by Mexicans.
Settlers were paid to settle in Texas to act as a buffer between the Comanches and Mexico.

Yes, California clearly has their priorities straight.

Why not take down some of their massive administrative overhead and fire some of the bureaucrats?

damn liberals soft on crime as usual.

cry me a river for the poor child molesters, rapists, murderers, etc. enduring harsh conditions.

If they are non violent drug offenders, let them out. Otherwise let them beat the **** out of each other. If they want to live in anarchy as barbarians, let them.

...Right! Then at the end of their sentences, turn them loose on the general public!

BTW: When that left-wing loon Jerry Brown was Governor, recidivism was 17%. Nowadays, it's closer to 80%.

Clearly, prison in CA is too comfortable then.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

that's why you don't let them out.

An even better idea is to take say a city and make the entire city a place for criminals. Say Los Angeles for example . Only kidding. Taking ideas from bad movies isn't the best thing to do.

I still say put them on an island and let them fend for themselves. No guards. As having guards is what makes things expensive (think Alcatraz).

What I observe (I may be wrong on this) is that certain elements of society want to lead antisocial anarchist lives with no regards to human life or the feelings of others. As far as I'm concerned they are animals that should be kept apart from the rest of society. They are human of course, and have a right to live. But it's obvious they don't want to live in a society with laws. So why not let them live in a society that lets them do what they want? Why not create a truelly anarchist society?

As far as I'm concerned these people don't belong in normal society.

Charlie Manson didn't want out. They let him out. The rest is history.

Well at least the New Californina Republic will have a balanced budget. Well worth the nuclear war if you ask me.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila
