                I don't think these people are atheists. They spend more time thinking about religion than those who proclaim to have faith.

                      Given that Christianity is a near complete cribbing of the Horus cult in Egypt, there's no reason to assume Christ was a real person.
                      Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

                              My Egyptian Mythology is a bit sketchy, and Wiki isn't doing much to fill in the blanks...did Horus really become human, wander around preaching and performing miracles, accept his own murder by humans in order to save said humans, and rise from the dead?

                              Wiki says what I recall about him: son of Osiris, avenged his father's death by killing Set. The only "savior" aspect is that he's associated with some deity named Shed who has a "savior" title. Osiris would seem to be a much closer match, since he is killed and sits in judgment in the afterlife, though the whole salvation aspect that makes the Christian version meaningful is missing. Feel free to provide me with more detailed information.
